A fright at night.

One Halloween night, many years ago, both my parents were gone to a local social annual dinner.My older sister, my cousin, and I were watching a real creepy film called "Whatever happend to Baby Jane", we were very nervous when it was over as it was quite scary. I went to the kitchen to get a glass of water, and as we lived in the countryside, it was pitch black outside. As I was just lifting the glass to my lips, I froze, as I saw an old lady as far as I could see, crouching down, creeping past the kitchen window, with a black cloak over her head, and waving very slowly in through the window at me. I screamed at my cousin and sister to come here quickly, as I had just seen somebody outside. My sister came in, and told me to calm down, when suddenly there was a loud rap tap tap at the front door. I begged my sister not to answer the door, as at this point my heart was racing with fear. She casually opened the door, and the same person that I had seen at the window, walked in, stooped over, leaning on a cane, with the black cloak covering her head.At this point I felt faint, when suddenly the lady whipped off her cloak to reveal my cousin. She and my sister had both planned this to give me a fright, which they certainly managed to do. I stayed up until my parents came home as I was still in shock. When they realised what had happened they were very annoyed at the pair of them for playing such a mean trick on me. I got the last laugh though, as they were grounded for a week!
